Last weekend I finally finished my beloved Grumps Bear.
He has certainly been a labour of love... and emotion.
I started on the traditional hand sewn teddy bear course back in March... shortly before Dad went into hospital. And then things went rapidly downhill... I missed a couple of the classes... but instead sat and worked on him as I sat at Dad's bedside.
Miraculously I still managed to complete him on time and attend the last couple of classes... and because of what was going on at the time I was making him, he became a bear to remember Dad by... Grumps Bear... and a gift for my step-mum to keep her company.
I chose one of Dad's old ties to make him a very dapper waistcoat and bow-tie... and I have to say that I am stupidly proud of my achievement - especially as I winged the pattern for his outfit!
He brings a smile, and a tear, whenever I see him... a little memory of Dad :)
He's rather smart don't you think?
And whilst we are on the subject of parents... if you know an amazing Mum, don't forget to nominate them for the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards... nominations close later tonight at 11.55pm, so be quick!

How cute is this teddy!!
