Grumps Bear Up Close

Facebook friends and twitter followers are probably sick of the sight of my little bear at the moment, but I am really rather proud of him!

I joined a 6-week traditional hand-sewn teddy bear making course and the last lesson was Monday, where I finished him off with glass eyes and an embroidered nose.

He was going to be mine, as he is the first bear I have made... but as my Dad (a.k.a. Grumps) passed away peacefully from lung cancer on Sunday morning (yes, I know I've not blogged about it yet... I'm struggling to tie down my emotions at the moment), he will now be taken care of by my lovely step-mum, who has also chosen one of Dad's silk ties for me to make a waistcoat and bow tie out of to dress the little fellow in.

  7. Very sorry for you lose.

Your bear is lovely and so full of character, its a lovely gesture to give him a home with your step-mum. She can have him for comfort and you your family can cuddle him in remembrance of you dad, when you visit her.

    Take care.
