The Product: Dr Brown's Trainer Cups
The Price: RRP £4.99
What They Say: This 6oz/180ml soft spout cup is ideal for babies transition from bottle to cup. Sip-activated valve - only baby's mouth activates valve, so no mess when baby is not drinking. All parts in Dr Brown's Trainer Cup System are interchangeable (handle, spout, valve). Supplied with protective lid. Easy to assemble, fill and clean. Dishwasher safe (top rack only) and BPA Free.
What We Say: We must have been through every different brand of valved trainer cup in an attempt to cut down on mopping up. Tilly and Jasper just love shaking their cups, and it gets quite messy because they can't manage to suck the water through the valves so we have to resort to the bog standard trainer cup. So when Dr Brown's announced they were launching their own trainer cups I jumped at the chance to try them out (and cheekily asked for a pink and blue one!).

After doing a lot of research on bottles we opted for Dr Brown's Natural Flow Bottles because of their reputation for preventing colic symptoms and equally importantly, they are BPA free. We have been extremely pleased with the bottles, so naturally the trainer cups had a lot to live up to... And they did! Even though the twins are both teething now I requested the soft (100% silicone) spout cups in the hope that it would be easier for them to work the valve, and I was right! It only took a couple of attempts for them to get into it and now feeding times are a lot less messy... I might even start adding a bit of juice to the water now that I don't have to worry about sticky patches on the floor.
The cups themselves are very durable and although there are quite a few components they are easy to put together. And they are available in pink and blue, which is always a winner with us!
The Pros: The twins can actually use the spout.
The Cons: None that we can see!
The Verdict: 4.5/5
The Supplier: Kindly supplied to review and keep by Dr Brown's, but available from all leading Mothercare stores
