My beautiful babies, today is your first birthday! Wow, we've had one whole year with you and the time has flown by. This day last year was one of the most exciting and happiest of our lives, but today we are even more proud as you celebrate your first birthday.
It's certainly been an eventful year full of lots of ups and downs, but I promise that this next year will have more ups than downs. Please remember, even if I am having a bad day it doesn't mean I love you any less.
We've settled into a comfortable routine now. You love going to nursery to play with your friends and the teachers there say you are the happiest babies there! They are very impressed with Jasper and his Podee too... I think they'd like to get some for the nursery! You also get to spend a lot of time with Nana too when she looks after you when Mummy and Daddy are both at work. She loves you so much and misses you like crazy when she can't come to look after you. In fact, everyone in the family loves you... you've stolen everyone's hearts.
It has been amazing to watch you grow over the last twelve months. You are changing constantly. It's hard to believe you could have been those two tiny babies that we were so scared to cuddle for fear of hurting you! Now you will merrily crawl around, bashing into things left, right and centre! Daddy still needs to relax a little when it comes to worrying about you though... you need to explore your limits and bump into a few things... it's what babys do!
Tilly... my beautiful girl... you are so full of energy and never still for any length of time, unless food is involved! You still only have one tooth, but I'm not looking forward to the others breaking through after the weeks of sleepless night we had with that first one! You don't have much interest for your toys, preferring to explore everywhere else at speed. It's difficult keeping up with you at times. We can tell that you love your brother as you are always looking to catch his attention... although pulling his hair is not one of the nicest ways of doing it. It's lovely to hear you giggling together over the monitors when you are supposed to be sleeping. You make us laugh so much when you whistle casually while you are doing things that you shouldn't. Surely a one-year-old shouldn't be able to whistle yet, let alone try to cover up her naughtiness?!
Jasper... my gorgeous boy... it has been a difficult year for you but you're so smiley and happy now. I will never forget holding your hand as you had the anaesthetic for your operation, and the joy and relief I felt when you came back around. You are such an inquisitive little boy and you'll spend ages just concentrating on one toy. You love to look at books and listen to me or Daddy reading to you, but get annoyed when Tilly distracts you. You love to bounce to music too, and always stop to listen whenever you hear music playing. I hope that music will always be a part of your life. You have four teeth already and another four more cutting through... you look so adorable with your cute toothy grin... that big, wide grin that we love so much.
Tonight we will have a little cake when Daddy gets home and on Saturday you will have a big party with all of your family... and lots more cake.
Thank you for being such amazing babies. We are so proud of you and love you so much. Happy birthday!
Love you both lots
Mummy
x
